Cranberry Township Supervisors discuss bridge project, CDBG funds
The Cranberry Township Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) public hearing focused on delays with FY-2022 funds for the Meadow Church Road bridge rehabilitation. Supervisor Mike Deibert raised concerns about the timeline, given an October 1 construction deadline. Environmental clearance issues have stalled funding, prompting discussions about using township funds to complete the project. Joshua Sterling of the Venango County Planning Commission suggested waiting for the funds but noted possible reallocation. The township expects about $120,632 in FY-2024 CDBG funds, with project proposals reviewed by September and construction likely starting in 2026. Additionally, Sterling reported on the Venango County Housing Rehabilitation program’s progress and current applications for more federal funds.
