    Topeka men arrested after allegedly pointing gun at law enforcement officer

    SHAWNEE COUNTY ( KSNT ) – The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office said two men are in custody after allegedly pointing a gun at an officer with the sheriff’s office on Monday, July 1.

    The sheriff’s office issued a press release on Tuesday, July 2 of an incident that occurred around 3:45 p.m. on July 1 in the 2700 block of Southeast Virginia Avenue. Two men in a pickup truck exited their vehicle and allegedly pointed a gun at the officer.

    Law enforcement was called to the scene and the pair were taken into custody. One firearm was seized at the scene. They were charged with the following:

    • 27-year-old Topeka man
      • Criminal possession of a weapon by a felon.
      • Felony interference with law enforcement.
    • 44-year-old Topeka man
      • Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
