    16 DUI arrests made in Kansas over Independence Day holiday: KHP

    TOPEKA ( KSNT ) – The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) is releasing the details of its Independence Day holiday report for this year.

    The report includes citations, warnings and arrests made from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3 to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 7. One highlight of the report is there were no fatal crashes throughout the recorded period of time.

    A breakdown of the full report can be found below:

    • DUI arrests – 16
    • Speed citations – 1085
    • Speed warnings – 909
    • Safety belt adult citations – 142
    • Safety belt adult warnings – 8
    • Safety belt teen citations – 7
    • Safety belt teen warnings – 0
    • Child restrain citations – 28
    • Motorist assists – 901
