    Key Stats

    Cincinnati Reds

Over the last ten games, the Cincinnati Reds have a record of 5-5. Although they lost yesterday's game against the Miami Marlins, they have a positive run differential of +11 through the previous three games. The Reds are sending out their ace Hunter Greene in this game and has been on fire since the All-Star break. Pitching three straight quality starts as he has thrown 20 innings pitched with 23 strikeouts, giving up five hits and zero earned runs. Greene should dominate against a lineup that has been diminished since the trade deadline.

As for the offensive side of the dish, look no further than shortstop Elly De La Cruz. Cruz leads the team in batting average (.265), home runs, (20), hits (113), and leads the MLB in stolen bases with 58. The switch-hitting shortstop has dominated this series, tallying eight hits in his 19 plate appearances with two home runs and five RBIs. He is joined by left fielder Spencer Steer who leads the team in RBIs with 66 and is looking for his first hit of the series in this game as he is 0-for-16 thus far.

    Miami Marlins

The Miami Marlins have been a bad team all season long. With a record of 43-72, 23-36 at home, they sit in last place in the National League East. After losing the first two games of this series, they defeated the Reds in yesterday's game 6-4. Miami will send young righty Kyle Tyler on the mound for this game. Tyler has a record of 0-2 this season with an ERA of 5.27. In his last performance, he couldn't get out of the third inning. Pitching 2 2/3 innings with three runs and a pair of strikeouts, Miami will need a masterclass to have any chance in this game.

Offensively, the Marlins have been a bottom-ten offense in the MLB. They rank 29th in runs scored, 29th in OPS, 20th in batting average, 27th in total bases, and 27th in home runs. This is a team that sold at the trade deadline, trading away some of their best players like Jazz Chisholm Jr., Josh Bell, and Bryan De La Cruz. The Marlins are waiting for this season to end to put this terrible season behind them.

    Prediction

The Cincinnati Reds will cruise to a multi-run win in this game over the Miami Marlins. This is not a complex answer. I am picking the better team with the better and hotter pitcher. Lastly, I don't expect Elly De La Cruz to go hitless in this game like he did yesterday. Although he leads MLB in hitter strikeouts, he is too talented of a player to not take advantage of the matchup against Kyle Tucker and Hunter Greene should dominate the bottom ten offense that the Marlins possess.

    Final Pick

    Cincinnati Reds -1.5 (-115)
