    User-posted content

The 40th annual Maui Invitational is set to tip off in late November. It is another loaded slate of games and now we have a bracket! The teams that will be in this year’s tournament are North Carolina, Michigan State, Uconn, Auburn, Dayton, Colorado, Iowa State, and Memphis. 7 of these 8 teams made it to the NCAA tournament a year ago. This includes the defending back-to-back national champion Uconn Huskies.

The tournament will take place back at the Lahaina Civic Center after not being held there last year due to the Maui fires. The gym will be rocking once again as this stacked group of teams will spend feast week duking it out. The college basketball countdown continues.

    Maui Invitational Bracket Released

Brackets and college basketball go together like peanut butter and jelly. The Maui Invitational has delivered again giving us some great matchups. On one side of the bracket, there is Memphis, Uconn, Michigan State, and Colorado. On the other side, there is Auburn, Iowa State, North Carolina, and Dayton.

Memphis and Uconn will kick off the festivities when match up in the quarterfinals. Following that, Colorado will play Michigan State, Auburn will play Iowa State, and North Carolina will play Dayton. Now those are some GAMES.

Top Headlines Going Into Maui Invitational

The lead story in the 2024 Maui Invitational is Uconn. Uconn has won back-to-back national championships under coach Dan Hurley and they don’t like they are going away anytime soon. The Huskies are sitting on the throne of college basketball. Big-time programs in North Carolina and Michigan State are looking to get back to the mountaintop and a potential matchup against Uconn can give them a good measuring stick to see where they need to be.

Iowa State, Colorado, and Auburn are all coming off of 26+ win seasons. Neither of these schools has historically been a great basketball program, but they have each been trending upward over the past few seasons. The next step forward for each of these teams is to go deeper in March. The other two teams in the field, Memphis and Dayton, are two of the best mid-major programs in the country. They have proven that they can play with the big boys.

We are set up for another great week of college basketball around Thanksgiving time. Dan Hurley wearing a Hawaiian shirt and yelling at referees will be a sight to see. It’s going to be weird seeing UNC coach Hubert Davis not wearing his normal suit, but that’s what this tourney is all about! This is going to be fun. November 25th, Maui, hurry up.
