New York Mets Starting Pitcher Luis Severino has regained his groove with the team during the 2024 season. Severino signed a one-year $13 million contract with the New York Mets during the 2023 offseason. He came over to the Mets this offseason from the New York Yankees looking to rebound from the worst season of his career. Severino had a career-high 6.65 ERA and was one of the worst pitchers in the league last season.

A change of scenery, and moving to a new borough, have done wonders for the performance of Severino. His numbers have improved in every important category this season He is 9-6 this season with a 3.84 ERA. Severino made his MLB debut in 2015 with the New York Yankees and spent the entirety of his career there before crossing over to the Mets last season. Severino is a two-time MLB All-Star(2017, 2018) and finished top 10 in Cy Young Award voting twice(2017, 2018). The best season of Severino's career came in 2017 when he finished third in Cy Young Award voting. Corey Kluber won that award that season. Severino has a career record of 63-43 with a 3.80 ERA.
