North Carolina boasts some fantastic fast food options, with beloved chains like Bojangles, Cookout, and Biscuitville some popular fast food chains haven’t been local staples.

However, some popular fast food chains haven’t yet made their way to the Tar Heel State. If you've traveled outside the state, you might have experienced some of these and wished they would open locations here.

For instance, when Shake Shack opened its first Charlotte location, the lines wrapped around the building for weeks. I wouldn’t wait that long for fast food, but it shows how much people crave new options.

South Carolina is finally getting a Whataburger, and I bet there will be a similar frenzy when it opens.

Here are five fast-food chains missing in North Carolina that many of us would love to see:

    1. Del Taco: I’m not a fan of Taco Bell, but I enjoy fast-casual spots like Chipotle and Moe’s. Del Taco seems like a great addition to our options.
    2. In-N-Out: After hearing about In-N-Out for years, I finally tried it in Arizona last spring. It lives up to the hype, and many North Carolinians would welcome it with open arms.
    3. Wienerschnitzel: I’m not big on hotdogs, but Wienerschnitzel’s name alone makes me want to visit. They also offer burgers, fries, and even a meatball sub.
    4. Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles: A Los Angeles staple with a menu featuring fried chicken, waffles, and homestyle sides. I’m not holding my breath for it to come east, but one can dream.
    5. Fatburger: Known for its cooked-to-order meals and “fat bar” locations, Fatburger would be a welcome addition for burger lovers.

Which fast food chains do you wish would come to North Carolina? Let us know!
