🚧 Scheduled Road Maintenance and Rolling Roadblocks on I-49 in St. Landry Parish

Residents of St. Landry Parish and commuters on I-49 are advised of road maintenance operations taking place on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Roadblocks will occur on I-49 Northbound from the LA-182 Mile Marker (7) to Duffy Avenue Mile Marker (11). It is scheduled to start at 7:00 AM and is expected to end at 9:00 AM. Both northbound and southbound directions will be affected by rolling roadblocks between Exit 7 and Exit 15. Upon completion of the northbound section, roadblocks will shift to the southbound direction, starting from Exit 15 and ending at Exit 11. During this time, the on-ramps at Exit 11 for both directions will also be closed. The operation is to facilitate the re-striping of the overpass at Exit 11. No specific truck restrictions have been mentioned, and no formal detour will be posted. Motorists can consider using the service roads if necessary. Emergency vehicles will be given access during these operations; however, they may face delays. The Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) requests the public's patience and urges drivers to exercise increased caution when navigating the area, to be mindful of the work crews and their equipment.
