🌩️ Update: Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Effect for Kiowa County, Colorado

The National Weather Service in Pueblo, Colorado, has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Kiowa County effective until May 3rd, 04:30 PM MDT. As of the last update at 4:03 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was detected over Queens Reservoir, approximately 16 miles north of Lamar, and tracking northeast at a speed of 30 mph. The thunderstorm is capable of producing ping pong ball size hail and wind gusts reaching up to 60 mph. Radar data was used to identify the threat. The expected impact includes potential injury to individuals and animals outdoors, along with probable damage to property such as roofs, sidings, windows, and vehicles. The risk of wind damage extends to structures and trees. Key locations that will be affected include Chivington, Brandon, Neeoshe Reservoir, and Neegronda Reservoir amongst others in Kiowa County.
