This charming store and restaurant is surrounded by lush forests and a covered bridge, but the real highlight here is the delicious cheesesteaks and hoagies. Keep reading to learn more.

Big Mike's has found a home within Forksville since 1999. The family-owned deli prides itself on bringing South Philly delicacies to this historic small town.

They've been so successful over the years that they've been mentioned in several publications and TV shows.

The Big Mike's cult-like following that's formed is loyal. You may even see a line of customers on the weekends but we promise that the wait is worth it.

The cheesesteak is the most popular choice but if you're feeling a bit adventurous try the Godfather. It comes with a half pound of chopped steak, fried onions, provolone cheese, pepperoni, peppers, mushrooms, and sauce...

If you're not in the mood for cheesesteak, a hoagie definitely does not disappoint here. Classics like the Italian, turkey and cheese, and ham and cheese are all available and like all their sandwiches, these are massive.

But that's not all, you have to complete the meal with one of Big Mike's infamous sides. Their fried pickles and onion rings are great but the Dirty Jersey fries are spectacular, they come covered in garlic sauce, whiz cheese, BBQ sauce, and slabs of bacon.

Big Mike's also offers funnel cake fries if you have a sweet tooth. If you're too full, get these to go.

Forksville General Store is definitely a bucket-list worthy trip that's never complete without taking in the surrounding area as well. Grab a seat outside to enjoy your meal and take in the gorgeous scenery. This is a great place to visit in the summer but even better in the fall.
