Welcome to Double XXL Steakhouse, an old-fashioned steakhouse located down a dirt road that serves some of the best ribeye you’ll ever find in TX for just 40 bucks.

Open on Fridays and Saturdays only, Double XXL is usually packed by peak dinner time. Reservations are required and cell service is so limited out there that the restaurant has 3 available lines to increase the chances of your call coming through.

The interior here can best be described as rustic and laid-back but the food is anything but ordinary.

The most popular dish is the "XXL usual," which features a 16-ounce, bone-in ribeye steak with sides like a salad, baked potato, garlic bread, sausage link, and a grilled jalapeno.

All of this for just $40 a person makes it that much more satisfying than a fancy steakhouse.

If steak isn't your thing the restaurant also serves seafood and BBQ specialties.

Desserts rotate frequently so you'll never be sure what to expect, but rest assured it will be excellent just like everything whipped up in the XXL kitchen.
