One of the Most Haunted Restaurants in America is Located Here in Florida

Florida is a state filled with plenty of history and urban legends. From abandoned towns and buildings to cemeteries and homes that are allegedly haunted, there is so much to explore within the Sunshine State.

If you have ever been to Ashley's of Rockledge, you may have already heard the stories that surround this old-fashioned pub.

The history of Ashley's of Rockledge dates back to the early 1930s when it was named Jack's Tavern.

One of the main ghosts here is tied to a grisly murder that has even been verified by a local newspaper report from the time.

A young woman named Ethel Allen was last seen at the tavern before her body was discovered on the shores of the Indian River, mutilated and burned.

Over the decades, several patrons, psychics, and even paranormal investigators who have visited Ashley's believe that although her body was found by the river, her murder must have occurred inside the restaurant.

Those who have reported unusual occurrences claim that you can hear footsteps on the stairs and that the temperature around the women's bathroom is significantly colder than the rest of the restaurant. Several patrons have also claimed to see the apparition of a woman in 1930s clothing, objects moving on their own, and the feeling of being trapped or pushed.

According to one psychic, Ethel is believed to have been chased down the stairs and stabbed, before eventually passing away in the restroom. This may explain why most unusual occurrences take place near the staircase and bathroom.
