Oregon church puts out the most hilarious and inclusive messages
Editor's Note: This article was originally published on April 7, 2021. It has since been updated. Pastor Adam Ericksen is on a mission to challenge what you think you know about religion. Since taking the reins a few years ago at Clackamas United Church of Christ in Milwaukie, Oregon, Pastor Adam has been spreading the original, inclusive message of Christ far and wide through slightly unconventional notes he leaves on the outdoor church marquee. His sometimes hilarious and sometimes political signs became such a hit among the locals that the church became popular online when many of them shared photos of the week's message on social media. "I came to the Clackamas United Church of Christ about a year and a half ago and realized that we needed to get our message out into the neighborhood," Pastor Adam told Bored Panda.

The Top 51 Events in Portland This Week: July 15–21, 2024
Jump to: Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Saturday | Sunday | Multi-Day Thank God It's Queer: Rope with Matinee Baby Past Event Like List. Glamorous drag clown Carla Rossi will set the freaky scene for Thank God It's Queer's Pride Month screening of Hitchcock's '48 murder tale Rope. The film follows two "dapper psychopaths" (me and who?) as they strangle a guy, stuff his body in an antique chest, and proceed to host a dinner party. Naturally, they start acting weird about it, and dramatics ensue. (In the cunty words of Hitchcock himself, "Drama is life with the dull bits cut out.") The screening will be paired with Portland-born filmmaker Thom Hilton's Matinee Baby, a new short centering two Clinton Street Theater employees and a cast of their "increasingly wacky, genre-tinged suitors."
