    Troy Police recover handgun in dispute investigation

    TROY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 )– Troy Police said they located a loaded handgun after being called to a dispute on Friday afternoon. According to police, they found the gun in the backyard of a residence near 4th Street, and one of three men involved in the dispute is in custody.

    Police said the dispute was at a home on 4th Street between Ida Street and Jefferson Street around 2:50 p.m., where two men were arguing with another man, and one of them had a handgun. Two of the men fled the scene before police arrived, and the other man was arrested for unlawfully operating a vehicle, police said.

    Assistant Police Chief Steven Barker said the investigation is ongoing, and the department wants to learn more about what caused the dispute and the identity of the people who fled the scene. Stay tuned to NEWS10 for more information.
