TRYON—On Sunday, May 26, Tryon Police Department deputies responded to a call regarding a shooting that took place at a residence on Markham Rd. in Tryon.

According to Interim Police Chief Scott Holt, officials arrived at the scene at approximately 8:45 p.m. and found the victim, Antwan Miller of Tryon, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Miller was transported to a nearby hospital with major injuries. At the time of publication, he remains in the care of healthcare professionals but is expected to make a full recovery.

“His recovery is going well,” said Miller’s daughter on Monday. “He just has a long road ahead of him.”

Officials arrested Josh Micheal Robinson, 31, of Forest City, in connection to the shooting. Robinson was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and booked into the Polk County Detention Center under a $60,000 secured bond.
