Jalen Milroe is going from Nick Saban as head coach to Kalen DeBoer this season, who used to coach for the Washington Huskies. Milroe had a career-high 2,834 passing yards and 35 total touchdowns in 2023.

Saban shocked everyone when he decided not to pick the Alabama Crimson Tide to make the SEC Championship in 2024. Instead, Saban went with the Texas Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs.

Milroe did not pay much attention when asked about the pick Wednesday at SEC media days. Instead of answering the question, he outlined how the team is going through the offseason.

"I think the biggest thing is just really attacking the offseason. For us, we're attacking it with our four stages of the offseason," Milroe said. "Number one, fourth quarter program. Number two, spring ball. Number three, summer one and number four, summer two."

The Crimson Tide achieved a lot under Saban in his final season. Alabama reached the SEC Championship and kept Georgia from its third straight national championship. Alabama then went to the playoff before losing to the Michigan Wolverines, who eventually won the national title.

DeBoer molded former Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. into a superstar. Alabama fans are hopeful that Milroe can become even better under DeBoer.

The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers are the first team that Alabama will play in 2024. Kickoff is on Aug. 31 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.
