This offseason, the college football world was rocked by a stunning announcement: the retirement of legendary head coach Nick Saban.

Saban is best known for coaching the Alabama Crimson Tide to six national championships and winning one national championship as the head coach of the LSU Tigers. Throughout his career, Saban achieved a record of 297-71-1 (80.6%) and is widely considered one of the greatest coaches of all time.

Saban is transitioning to a new role as an analyst for ESPN. He will appear on its flagship college football show, "College GameDay," on Saturdays during the season. Saban made his analyst debut alongside Paul Finebaum and others during SEC media days. Finebaum called the show they did together the most intimidating moment of his career.

"It was most intimidating," Finebaum said. "We did a live hour show on ESPN2, and it was the most intimidating 60 minutes I've ever spent."

Finebaum recalled that when asked about Alabama, he thought, "There is the guy who left that program." He later adjusted and deflected by saying, "Great question, Laura. Let's hear coach answer that."

In his new role, even though Saban is retired, he still carries an intimidating presence, commanding respect and authority.
