ABILENE, TEXAS – The UT Arlington Maverick baseball team defeated the Abilene Christian Wildcats 12-11 in an astonishing 8-run comeback at Crutcher Scott Field this Friday. In a very windy day, the Mavs got off to a solid start by scoring a run in the top of the 1st thanks to an RBI double which was smoked by Ryan Ellis to left center. With a 1-0 lead heading into the bottom of the 1st inning, the Wildcats absolutely poured it onto the Mavs, scoring 4 runs off of three straight ACU home runs to take a 4-1 lead.
ACU selects Jo Koons to lead softball program
ABILENE, Texas (BCH Sports) – Abilene Christian vice president for athletics, Zack Lassiter, announced Friday that Jo Koons has been tabbed as the head softball coach for the Wildcats. She is the fifth head coach in the program’s history and joins ACU from UT Arlington, where she served as an assistant coach.
136 Wildcats named on Academic All-WAC honors
ARLINGTON — The Western Athletic Conference released its Academic All-WAC honorees for spring 2024 as well as freshmen and transfer honorees for fall and winter sports on Friday. ACU saw a total of 136 Wildcats receive honors, with 102 coming from the spring and 34 additions for the fall and winter.
