The Broward Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit has released a composite sketch and surveillance video of a man involved in the attempted kidnapping of a 15-year-old girl in Pompano Beach. Authorities are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect.

According to the press release, the incident occurred at approximately 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, near the 200 block of Northwest 12th Court. The victim, who was walking to school, reported that a man driving a grey sedan approached her and demanded she get into his vehicle. When she refused and continued walking, the suspect followed her, brandished a black and grey firearm, and again ordered her into the car. The girl managed to escape and sought safety before notifying authorities. The suspect then fled the area heading eastbound.

Surveillance footage captured the suspect's vehicle trailing the victim, followed by its departure from the scene.

Detectives describe the suspect as a male between 20 and 35 years old, with facial hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white tank top and black gym shorts and driving a grey sedan.
