Former Middletown North HS Soccer Player Mariano Codallos Dies, 23
A 2019 graduate of Middletown North High School, Codallos-Tepepa was passionate about music and devoted to his family, his obituary says. An avid fan of the New York Yankees, he was dedicated to his faith and was a longtime parishioner of Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Red Bank and became a brother of of the Cursillo de Cristiandad, according to his obituary.

ALO Longboard Classic to See Returning Champs and More Beach-Based Fun This Saturday
When former Alliance for a Living Ocean Executive Director Tom Beaty initiated ALO’s very first LBI Longboard Classic in 2009, it was a pretty bare-bones surf event. There were a handful of surfers competing who were around in the 1960s and actually experienced that influential time in surfing’s history that is still celebrated today. There was swell from Hurricane Bill, which had reached Cat 4 strength, the strongest storm of that year. And Tucker McGrath, among the youngest competitors, took a historic win in big surf.
Early Training Camp Headlines: Rutgers 2024
Training camp for Rutgers football began on July 28 and has been in full swing as we quickly approach the start of college football season. Rutgers has one of the earliest games of the college football season, squaring off against Howard on August 29, taking place a few days before students return to campus. This means that Rutgers has a little bit less time in training camp than most teams in the NCAA. Several bits of news that have come out about the Knights training camp lead to the notion that they are using this time very wisely and that they are looking better in camp than many initially anticipated.
CJSR files OPRA request with East Brunswick Board of Education on Steinfeld’s departure
With no response from East Brunswick school officials for comment on the recent departure of Bears’ football coach Andy Steinfeld – who was not retained after five years as head coach and some two decades involved with the program, including as a player and assistant – Central Jersey Sports Radio has filed an Open Public Records Act request with the East Brunswick school district for more information related to the decision.
