Sources told NFL Network , ESPN and The Athletic about the signing Monday.

Smith-Schuster signed a three-year, $33 million deal last off-season with the New England Patriots. The Patriots cut the veteran pass catcher earlier this month.

Smith-Schuster, 27, totaled 29 catches for 260 yards and a score over 11 games last season. He logged 78 catches for 933 yards and three scores in 2022 for the Chiefs.

The second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft spent his first five seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He totaled a career-high 111 catches for 1,426 yards and seven scores over 16 games in 2018 en route to his lone Pro Bowl selection.

Smith-Schuster will enter a Chiefs wide receivers room that also contains Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice, Skyy Moore, Justin Watson, Mecole Hardman and off-season signing Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, who has been out because of a shoulder injury.

The Chiefs will host the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL's 2024 season opener at 8:20 p.m. EDT Sept. 5 in Kansas City, Mo.
