Perdue has recalled frozen, ready-to-eat chicken products that possibly contain foreign metals, according to the United States Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, FSIS.

The following have been recalled, according to a press release published by the agency:

    • Perdue Simply Smart Organic Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets - Products have "best if used by the dates" of March 23, 2025, on the package.
    • Perdue Chicken Breast Tenders - Products have "best if used by the dates" of March 23, 2025, on the package.
    • ButcherBox Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets - Products have "best if used by the dates" of March 23, 2025, on the package.

Perdue is recalling 167,171 pounds of chicken, stated the FSIS announcement that was made on Aug. 16.

The chicken, which has the establishment number P-33944, was sold in stores across the country and sold directly to customers online.

    What led to the recall?

The recall came after there were several complaints of "metal wire embedded in the product," stated the FSIS.

No injuries or adverse reactions have been reported.

What to do if you have the product:

The FSIS recommends consumers either throw the chicken away or return it to where it was purchased for a refund.
