The Colorado Buffaloes held their annual fall sports media day on Friday, and Arizona State transfer defensive lineman B.J. Green II was one of the many football players available for interviews.

Green comes to CU with a healthy amount of fanfare. 247Sports listed him as a four-star transfer, and both the Big 12 media and Phil Steele granted him preseason All-Big 12 honors. The 6-foot-1, 270-pounder is listed as a defensive end, but if his highlight tape is anything to go off of, you’ll likely see him rushing from just about everywhere during the upcoming season.

I asked Green what he brings to CU’s defense at media day, and he was quick to point out his versatility while praising defensive coordinator Robert Livingston.

“Versatility,” Green said. “We’re a really talented group on D-line. When it gets to third down and we need to rush the passer, I have the ability to rush from anywhere, so we can bring another edge rusher onto the field and allow me to go to work on the inside. I truly appreciate what coach Livingston lets us do. He lets us really just be who we are. He lets us get after it. We play very fast and we play together.”
