The Indianapolis Colts reportedly signed wide receiver Greg Ward, according to Jordan Schultz.

Ward was one of the 12 players that the Colts had in for a workout on Tuesday.

Ward went undrafted out of Houston in 2017 and has had two separate stints with the Philadelphia Eagles, which includes playing under Shane Steichen when he was the offensive coordinator there.

Over his career, Ward has caught 88 of his 128 targets (69%) at 8.7 yards per catch with 10 touchdowns. His last regular season snaps on offense came during the 2021 season. He’s also played 255 career special teams snaps.

With Josh Downs sidelined, Ward provides additional depth in the slot. Over the last several days, we’ve seen AD Mitchell and Anthony Gould taking the bulk of the slot snaps. The addition of Ward could allow Mitchell to go back to playing primarily on the boundary, where he is competing with Alec Pierce.

With the addition of Ward, the Colts will have to make a corresponding roster cut to make room for him on the team. At this time, that move hasn’t been announced.
