Arizona Cardinals rookie tackle Christian Jones has had a pretty good training camp. He didn’t stand out in the team’s preseason opener.

He made an impact in the first half of the Cardinals’ second preseason game.

    It wasn’t a good one.

    He had a terrible sequence.

After the Cardinals forced a turnover in the first half and were in Colts’ territory.

After Chris Moore’s 16-yard catch-and-run to get in the red zone, Jones was flagged for holding on a Trey Benson run. On first-and-20, Benson broke free for a 2–yard run down to the two-yard line. It didn’t count because Jones was flagged for holding again, this time down the field. It negated the run and made it second-and-23. On the next play, Jones was flagged for holding for a third consecutive play on a pass play that was incomplete, pushing the Cardinals back for a second-and-33.

They had to settle on a field goal to get on the board.

Jones would be flagged for a fourth holding penalty on the next possession, but that was declined by the Colts.

Jones is not a lock to make the roster. This sequence will not help him.
