North Carolina point guard Elliot Cadeau was a starter from day one when he stepped on Chapel Hill’s campus last year. The freshman impressed and got better as the season went on as the Tar Heels’ primary ball handler.

As Cadeau got better, UNC’s offense got better along with RJ Davis taking a step forward as well. The guard averaged 7.3 points and 4.1 assists per game and shot 41.7 percent from the field. While Cadeau was playing at a high level, he did struggle in one key area.

    Three-point shooting.

Cadeau finished the year shooting just 18.9 percent from the three-point line as teams often left him open and challenged him. That might change this year as Cadeau has been working on his perimeter shooting to improve in that area.

It’s encouraging to see Cadeau work on that perimeter game and hopefully it becomes beneficial for him this season. If Cadeau can improve that jumpshot it will not only help North Carolina’s offense but it will also help his NBA draft stock as well.

The perimeter shooting of Cadeau will be a big storyline going into the season as UNC returns one of the best backcourt in the entire country.
