The Tulane Green Wave (1-0) welcome the No. 16 Kansas State Wildcats (1-0) to Yulman Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for noon ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Kansas State vs. Tulane odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Kansas State is coming off a 41-6 thrashing of the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks Saturday in its season opener. The Wildcats failed to cover a 37-point spread. RB DJ Giddens had 124 rushing yards on 13 attempts against UT-Martin.

The Green Wave, who play in the American Athletic Conference, throttled the Southeastern Louisiana Lions 52-0 in Week 1, covering as a 38-point favorite. Tulane was led by QB Darian Mensah, who hit 10-of-12 passes for 205 yards and 2 TDs. The Green Wave had a strong season a year ago, finishing 11-3 with a perfect AAC record (8-0).

Kansas State is No. 16 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, conducted by the American Football Coaches Association and USA TODAY Sports

Kansas State at Tulane picks and predictions

    Prediction

    Kansas State 31, Tulane 20

    PASS.

The Wildcats have a dynamic offense and should be able to go on the road and come out on top. But they are far too expensive to take. The Green Wave didn’t showcase too much despite a dominant Week 1 performance.

Don’t expect them to be able to beat the Big 12 side either.

    BET KANSAS STATE -9.5 (-118).

Tulane didn’t cover often at home last season, especially as a favorite, and finished 5-9 ATS in 2023. They’ll be playing a far more competent side in Kansas State.

Tulane played a top-25 side twice last season and lost 27-30 in Week 2 to Ole Miss and 26-14 to SMU in the AAC Championship Game. The Green Wave may be a top AAC side, but they are going to struggle against an offense like the Wildcats.

    Take KANSAS STATE -9.5 (-118).

    BET OVER 47.5 (-110).

The Green Wave scored at least 20 points in their first 8 games of last season, and they put up 20 on Ole Miss as that game totaled 57 points. Tulane also had a great Week 1 showing, tallying 52 and scoring a TD in every quarter.

Kansas State has an aggressive offense as well and scored double figures in 3 of 4 quarters against UT-Martin. The Wildcats should be able to unlock their quarterbacks as well with the threat of Giddens, who had over 1,200 rushing yards last season.

Neither team hit the Over in Week 1, but both scored at least 40. Take OVER 47.5 (-110) as the electric offenses should stay hot.
