Second-year wide receiver Jayden Reed looked like a budding star during the Green Bay Packers’ 34-29 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the season opener on Friday night in Brazil.

Reed, who scored 10 touchdowns during his rookie season, turned five touches into 171 total yards and two scores against the Eagles.

    His five touches, in order:

    1. 9-yard catch

    2. 33-yard rushing touchdown

    3. 70-yard receiving touchdown

    4. 23-yard catch on 3rd-and-5

    5. 33-yard catch

On both of his touchdowns, Reed broke a tackle in the open field to create the score. He gained roughly 55 yards after contact — 24 on the first, and 31 on the second.

His 23-yard catch required him to absorb a big hit right after the catch, and the conversion extended a scoring drive. Finally, his dazzling 33-yarder along the sideline on the final drive gave the Packers a glimmer of hope late.

Reed’s final tally: Five touches, four explosive plays and two scores. Packers coach Matt LaFleur might regret not finding more easy ways of getting the ball in his hands.

Here are Reed’s best plays from the opener:

Reed scored touchdowns in six of his last eight regular season games to end his rookie season. Counting Week 1, Reed has scored multiple touchdowns in three career games (Week 2 vs. ATL, 2023; Week 16 vs. MIN, 2023).

Reed’s 138 receiving yards and 171 total yards both set new career highs. Also, Reed’s 33-yard rushing touchdown was a career-long rush, eclipsing a 32-yard run from last season, and his 70-yard touchdown catch set a new career-long, beating his 59-yarder from last season.
