Word of mouth originally brought Glenview, Illinois, native Thomas O’Gara ’25 to Minnesota’s largest private university. O’Gara knew some people from the Chicago area who attended the University of St. Thomas, including a cousin, Jacqueline Jung. As of midmorning, southern Minnesota was still dealing with heavy rain.Rain is still possible in the Twin Cities in the afternoon and evening, but after that, we've got a stretch of dry time lasting the rest of the week.Highs will approach 80 on Tuesday in the Twin Cities and remain similar on Wednesday, then things will start to warm up. By the weekend, highs will be near 90 degrees. Rain and storms may return by Sunday and continue into early next week.

Lake Country Power lineworker returns from electrifying Guatemala village
Ben Hoyt, journeyman lineworker for Lake Country Power, recently returned from a volunteer project in Guatemala to bring electricity into an eastern village for the first time. Hoyt and 13 other line workers built 3.5 miles of primary and secondary line, carried transformers by hand, wired homes with wall outlets and lightbulbs, and provided water filters to the Guatemalan people.
