    McAllen FD investigate overnight fire

    McALLEN, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — The McAllen Fire Department is investigating a fire that broke out late Friday night.

    McAllen Fire Chief Juan Gloria told ValleyCentral that at 1:05 a.m., firefighters responded to a house fire at the 100 block of E. Lark Avenue.

    Waterspout spotted near South Padre Island

    At the scene, fire crews saw the garage engulfed in flames. The family was able to get out of the home safely. However, their two dogs were trapped inside.

    While extinguishing the fire, crews found the pups and immediately performed CPR, but they were later pronounced dead.

    No issues or injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
