Morgan County R-I teacher Renee Pace has been appointed by Missouri Governor Mike Parson to the America 250 Commission. The commission is a planning committee for the 250th-anniversary celebration of the United States.

Fourteen other residents were appointed to statewide boards with Pace and another lake area resident, Paul Stephen Buckley, Four Seasons, was appointed to the Missouri Commission on Human Rights.

Pace teaches English at the Morgan County R-1 Middle School in Stover. She lives in Eldon and is an honorary state regent of the Missouri State Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Ms. Pace holds a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from MidAmerica Nazarene University, a Master of Arts in curriculum and instruction, and a Specialist Degree in educational leadership and policy analysis from the University of Missouri–Columbia.

America 250 is a semi quincentennial celebration and Parson officially added the commission in July 2023. America250 will collaborate with Missouri’s effort to ensure broad participation during the historic occasion.“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Governor Parson and the Missouri legislature for their bipartisan support to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary. We eagerly anticipate collaborating with the commission and state leaders to orchestrate the most inclusive anniversary in the history of our nation,” Rosie Rios, U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission Chair, said. “The America 250 Missouri Commission will play a crucial role in ensuring that the incredible contributions of the Show-Me State are well represented in the commemoration of the country we love.”
