    Fire tragically strikes Azur Apartments

    WACO, Texas ( FOX 44 ) – Today, a devastating fire engulfed Azur Apartments near Richland Mall, leaving many residents in shock and despair as they scrambled to salvage what remained of their homes amidst the chaos.

    The Waco Fire Department swiftly responded to the emergency at Owen Lane, dispatching 38 firefighters and 16 vehicles to combat the flames that ravaged the complex. The blaze affected a total of 8 apartments, with 2 directly damaged by fire and the others impacted by water and smoke.

    In the aftermath, 19 people found themselves displaced, their lives upended by the sudden calamity. The Red Cross and the management of Azur Apartments stepped in immediately, providing essential support and assistance to those affected.

    One resident, deeply affected by the ordeal, shared that Azur management has made it their duty to try and help with financial aid for temporary lodging, ensuring displaced residents have a place to stay during this difficult time. Additionally, management plans to allow residents to return to their apartments tomorrow to retrieve any salvageable belongings.

    As the community comes together to support those who lost their homes, the road to recovery for the residents of Azur Apartments promises to be challenging yet hopeful, with the support of neighbors, emergency services, and local organizations rallying behind them.
