Police are searching for a stolen white Mercedes that is the center of a possible abduction of a 4-year-old in Wakefield on Saturday. Police sources tell News 12 that detectives reviewed surveillance footage of the stolen vehicle when they noticed that their original reporting may be false. Those police sources say that detectives are now unsure if a child was in the stolen vehicle, when this morning police reported that a 4-year-old boy was in the back seat of that car. The incident took place on East 241st Street at Metro Motel. Two individuals removed the keys from a white Mercedes and took the vehicle, according to police. An employee from the Metro Motel said the woman who owns the Mercedes checked in on Friday, and he saw several men and two young children going in and out of her room. "All these bad boys," said Wakefield's Edith Antwine. "They walk around snatching cars and phones. So when you come back in the night, you are not safe." Police provided no other details. "
