Super One Foods does ‘super’ job for the new library

The customers of the new Super One Foods in Walker have spoken loud and clear.

“The Register Campaign at Super One brought in $3,675.34 toward the construction of the new Dale and Harriet Jones Walker Public Library,” said Joe Sherman, who represents Shingobee Township on the Walker Library Board and serves on the Fundraising and Publicity Committee.

Super One’s Register Campaign assists with fundraising efforts for non-profit organizations. During the campaign SuperOne customers are invited to donate $1, $3, $5, or round up their transaction at the checkout.

“Super One would like to thank the extreme generosity of our customers while partnering with the new Library...a great addition to Walker and the surrounding communities,” said Mark McKenna, Super One Store manager.

“We have had a lot of favorable comments on the planning and construction phases of the new public library, and the community has again been extremely generous in financially supporting our facility. Super One has been very helpful in the support of the library and are also heavily involved to the further development and enrichment our entire community,” said Mike Nelson, a Fundraising Committee member.

The campaign ran from May 24 through June 10.

Kathi Cadmus, president of Friends of Walker Public Library and also a member of the Fundraising Committee, added that anyone can make a financial impact to the new library by making a personal donation that is tax deductible to Friends of the Walker Public Library, a 501(c)3 charitable organization.
