WALNUT COVE — South Stokes’ rising senior Parker Barron is a three-sport athlete for the Sauras. He plays football, is a thrower on the track team, and competes on the school’s swim team.

He’s looking forward to the up-and-coming football season and the progression that he and the team will have. Barron is also looking forward to making more memories with his friends.

Barron will be a big part of the success that new head football coach Josh Mickey will have this fall. He had 21 catches for 242 yards and a touchdown for the football team last season and recorded 52 tackles on the defensive side with 35 being solo.

Barron finished eighth in the 50 yard freestyle during the Northwest 1A Conference, ninth in the 100 yard freestyle, and was a member of the 200 yards freestyle relay that finished third, and the 400 yards freestyle relay team that placed fourth. Both relay teams qualified for regionals.

In track, he placed 13th in the discus throw in the Northwest 1A Conference meet.

Barron has been honorable mention in track and during his sophomore and junior year in football.

He plans to attend Forsyth Technical Community College and get his associate degree in business.
