Bolingbrook Burn Victim Investigation Leads to Arson Arrest
A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged as a result of a fire that was intentionally set at the Levy Senior Center on 7/24/2024. On 7/24/2024 at approximately 1:13 am, Bolingbrook Police located an active fire near the rear of 251 Canterbury Ln. The Bolingbrook Fire Department was summoned to the scene and extinguished the fire. Initial observations found that the fire was not naturally occurring and was fueled by personal bedding. A short time later, Bolingbrook Fire Department personnel encountered a 35-year-old man with severe burns at fire station #2. The man was transported to an area hospital for treatment and is currently in stable condition.

Bicyclist hit by vehicle, critically injured in Skokie, police say
A bicyclist was critically injured after a crash Wednesday in the north suburbs.ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watchA 27-year-old man was riding a bicycle near Skokie Boulevard and Gross Point Road in Skokie when he was hit by a vehicle in the intersection, police said.The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene after the crash, police said.The bicyclist was taken to a hospital in "critical but stable" condition, police said.The North Regional Major Crimes Task Force, Major Crash Assist Team is assisting the Skokie police with the investigation into the crash.It was not immediately known if any charges or citations were filed. CHICAGO (CBS) -- Most Chicagoans who want to go to Saugatuck travel by car, but one man left Chicago for southwest Michigan on a jet ski.Frank Giannelli is jet skiing 100 miles across Lake Michigan for "Get Behind The Vest," the effort by the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation to raise money to provide life-saving body armor to police officers.Giannelli zipped off from the Chicago Yacht Club around 7:15 a.m. Thursday, getting a water salute as he moved out of port.
