FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The TinCaps wrapped up a season-long 12-game home stand on a sour note with an 8-1 loss to the Lansing Lugnuts on Sunday.

Despite Sunday’s setback, the TinCaps still clinched a series win, taking 4-of-6 games against the Lugnuts. Fort Wayne also won 9-of-12 games during their 2-week stint at Parkview Field.

Most of this game was a pitcher’s duel. TinCaps starter Henry Baez shoved three batters, allowing one hit in a 5-inning start. Meanwhile, Grant Judkins pitched four shutout innings in his start.

The TinCaps lost control in the seventh inning after surrendering four runs in the top of the seventh inning. Fort Wayne made things interesting in the eighth inning, scoring once then loading the bases with two outs. Lansing ended the threat to take a 4-1 lead heading into the final inning.

The TinCaps are off Monday before heading to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers for a 6-game series. Game one is set for Tuesday at 7:40 p.m.
