A group of Hudson Valley craft beverage owners are calling on the governor to sign a newly passed bill into law that would help boost business. Orange County craft beverage manufacturers joined representatives from the Distillers Guild, Cider Association, Orange County Farm Bureau and Sen. James Skoufis in Warwick Wednesday to urge Gov. Kathy Hochul to take action. The law would allow distilleries and cideries across New York to ship products directly to customers. Skoufis says many distilleries are small businesses that are struggling and could use the boost. "We are strongly urging the governor to sign this bill. She has a strong record of reforming our antiquated alcohol laws here in New York State and I believe that she is going to endorse this bill," the senator says. Skoufis says the law would take effect 90 days after the governor signs it. Advocates say they hope to have it on the books in time for the holiday shopping season. "
