Video of Boy Making Hilarious Faces While Dad Speaks on House Floor Is Internet Gold

By the time they're old enough to go to school, most kids have figured out that when their parents are working, they need to focus on their job. If mom or dad works at home, children probably know they're not supposed to interrupt them during a conference call or video meeting; if they work away from home, kids (ideally) understand that their parent has to be gone for an important reason that benefits the whole family. Of course, that doesn't mean little ones always have the self-control to let their parents do what they need to do!

In one hilarious video that's completely cracking up the internet at large, a boy is at work with his father, and he's having a hard time holding it together. This wouldn't necessarily be a big deal except for the fact that dad just happens to be a congressman who's speaking on the House floor...and his son is on camera!

Whatever point Representative John Rose (R) was trying to make, it's safe to say that nobody was listening . How could anybody pay attention to what he was saying when his 6-year-old son Guy was hamming it up in the background like a seasoned comedian?

According to The Associated Press, the little boy just graduated from kindergarten and he's spending the week with his dad in Washington, D.C. (Rose's younger son Sam, stayed behind in Tennessee with mom Chelsea). Apparently, Rose told Guy to "smile at the camera for his little brother "...and he went the extra mile!

Even though things can go a bit off the rails (as this video proves), experts say bringing your kid to your job with you is worth the effort.

Why You Should Consider Taking Your Kid to Work

While it's not always possible to take your child to work , the experience can be beneficial in more ways than one, according to Forbes.

For example, when kids go to work with their parents, it helps them to learn problem-solving skills .

"Allow your kids into meetings or business trips so they can observe. Have your kids on hand as you negotiate and amicably work through challenges with peers. Through observational learning, your kids will pick up tips for working through differences and conflicts."

Bringing your child to work also exposes them to a wider spectrum of future job possibilities. (Even if they're not interested in following in your footsteps, they might be curious about a co-worker's role.) Plus, they can begin to understand the way people are expected to conduct themselves in the workplace.

It's true that you'll have to prepare yourself for the possibility of some unexpected behavior when you take your little one to work, but maybe your co-workers will appreciate a dose of comic relief!
