UConn forward Paige Bueckers had a busy Saturday supporting women's sports in the nation's capital.

After watching her former Huskies teammate, Aaliyah Edwards, and the Washington Mystics against the Las Vegas Aces at Entertainment & Sports Arena, she traveled to Audi Field to catch NWSL action between the North Carolina Courage and Washington Spirit.

Despite both home teams losing — the Mystics, 88-77; the Spirit, 1-0 — Bueckers shared a simple, heartfelt message afterward.

"A beautiful day supporting women's sports in DC," the 2020-21 Associated Press Player of the Year wrote.

Several fans took the moment to think about the potentially not-too-distant future where Bueckers plays professionally in DC.

    "Future Mystic," wrote one fan.

Bueckers is widely expected to be the first pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, and the Mystics (4-15) are on their way to being one of the four teams with a chance to land the No. 1 pick in the draft lottery.

"Can’t wait until you’re a Mystic," wrote another commenter.

"Get used to it. You’re gonna be a mystic :)" wrote one more.

"Cause she about to be one," one predicted.

In 2023-24, Bueckers returned from a torn ACL that forced her to miss the entire 2022-23 season.
