Fourth of July fireworks are almost here, and a bunch of D.C. rooftop bars are hosting viewing parties.

Why it matters: You can rise above the National Mall crowds.

State of play: The massive 17-minute display will start at 9:09pm, but most parties start well before that.

๐Ÿน Tiki TNT : The Wharf's rum distillery and tiki bar throws an annual July 4th luau. Tickets ($30) include a welcome drink and guarantees outdoor seating (7-10pm).

๐Ÿท L'Ardente : The glam Italian restaurant takes over Capitol Crossing's enclosed rooftop conservatory. Guests can opt for a full package with a prix-fixe dinner and viewing party that's $275 from 6pm to 10:30pm. Or just the viewing party ($125) that starts at 8pm and includes bubbles and wines, desserts, and a DJ.

๐ŸŽถ The Line : The boutique AdMo hotel recently expanded its rooftop programming, which includes a free July 4th fireworks party (6-10pm) with a jazz performance by Upendo. Hot dogs, cocktails, and more are available to purchase ร  la carte. RSVP here .

๐Ÿคฉ Top of the Gate : The Watergate's rooftop offers some of the city's best sky-high views of the monuments and Potomac. General admission includes an open bar ($175, 7:30-10pm) while VIP passes start at $395 with perks including a buffet and reserved seating.

๐ŸŒญ Hi-Lawn : The huge bar atop Union Market is throwing an all-weekend rooftop party and grill-out, Thursday through Sunday, with live music and summer-y fare. On July 4th, watch the fireworks (limited reservations but all free).

๐Ÿ–๏ธ Ciel Social Club : The Mt. Vernon rooftop is channeling vacation vibes for summer. General admission tickets for July 4th include a three-hour open bar, heavy appetizers, and music. VIP upgrades available. Tickets are $180 (7-10pm).
