DCA has a new American Express airport lounge

Attention D.C. travelers: There's a new airport lounge at DCA.

State of play: The region's first American Express Centurion Lounge is now open in Terminal 2 near the B gates .

    • Inside the nearly 12,000-square-foot space, you'll find pieces by local artists like Maggie O'Neill and a D.C.-core design such as a dining room ceiling light sculpture inspired by the city's original boundary stones, according to a press release shared with Axios.
    • On the menu: Dishes curated by James Beard award-winning chefs like Michael Solomonov (behind spots like Philly's Zahav and Laser Wolf), D.C.-esque cocktails (think a spritz made with liqueur from the local group Don Ciccio & Figli ), and wines from Virginia vineyards.
    • Also inside: Conference and phone rooms, workstations, and shower suites.

The intrigue: There's also an area of the lounge reserved just for holders of the exclusive AmEx "black card" — although a recent Washingtonian review of the space was meh at best.

To know: Access is limited to American Express platinum and Delta SkyMiles cardholders and Centurion members, though guests can tag along for a fee.
