Dynamic receiver amongst Commanders' top cut candidates

The Washington Commanders are entering a new era. The new ownership group led by Josh Harris has brought in a load of new players, a new head coach, and a new quarterback.

With that in mind, there will be more changes made to Washington in the form of cuts between now and Week 1, and these three players will be fringe roster names to watch over the next month.

    WR Dyami Brown

Brown was very explosive while at North Carolina. However, since entering the league, his opportunities have come few and far between. In three seasons, he has just 29 catches. With the additions of Luke McCaffrey and Olamide Zaccheaus, Brown could be the odd man out in the receiving group.

    DE Javontae Jean-Baptiste

The Commanders have a ton of talent on their defensive line. They came into the offseason already having Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne, and then added Dorance Armstrong and Dante Fowler, who followed Dan Quinn over from Dallas. They also drafted Johnny Newton out of Illinois. With all the talent on the defensive line, it’s hard to see the seventh-round pick having a roster spot as a rookie, and a year on the practice squad will likely be how he spends his 2024.

    WR Dax Milne

You can somewhat copy and paste what was said about Brown and say it about Milne. He has 15 catches in two seasons with Washington in 2021 and 2022, and was on IR for all of 2023. My guess is the wide receiver depth chart will be Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, Luke McCaffrey, Olamide Zaccheaus, and the final spot will come down to Brown, Milne, and Jamison Crowder.
