Texas A&M has been on the cusp of being a powerhouse baseball team for the most part of the last decade but repeatedly fell short of expectations until the 2024 season. On the heels of a historic year, Aggie fans settled in to follow the 2024 MLB Draft to see which of their beloved A&M players would make the jump to the pros. They didn’t have to wait long with Braden Montgomery being selected 12th overall and stayed tuned to watch six more Aggies get selected throughout the draft. With seven players being picked A&M now has the longest streak in the nation for three or more players being drafted since 2001. College Station Police Arrests After A Stranger Enters Two Apartments In The Middle Of The Night And After Someone Arrested For DWI Was Driving A Roommate’s Car Without Permission
A College Station man tells police he went into two apartments at different complexes at 3:55 and 4:50 Monday morning (July 15) in order to take a shower. That led to the College Station police arrest of 29 year old Edgar Garza of College Station on two counts of criminal trespassing. At the time of his latest arrest, Garza was out on bond awaiting trial on misdemeanor charges of falsifying a drug test and indecent exposure that took place on separate days in May. Garza remains jailed as of July 17 in lieu of bonds on the new charges totaling $6,000 dollars.
Cameron Park Zoo mourns death of beloved Southern White Rhinoceros
WACO, Texas — The Cameron Park Zoo in Waco is mourning the loss of one of its longtime residents, Jabba the Southern White Rhino. Jabba was born at Lion Country Safari, Inc. in Florida on Feb. 25, 1981, said the zoo. He reportedly died at the age of 43, being one of the oldest males of his species in any zoo worldwide, said the Cameron Park Zoo.
WARRANT ARREST MADE ON BRENHAM MAN
A Brenham man was arrested Wednesday on two active warrants. Brenham Police report that Wednesday afternoon at 3:00, officers responded to a disturbance located near the 700 block of East Main Street. Upon arrival, officers placed Adam Glenn Scott Rodgers, 27 of Brenham, in custody for two active warrants; 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (both were Bond Surrenders issued out of Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 in Washington County).
BRENHAM MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT
A Brenham man was arrested early Wednesday, charged with assault. Brenham Police report that early Wednesday morning at 1:30, Officer Garrett Downs, responded to the 1600 block of Lauraine Street in reference to a physical disturbance. Investigation revealed that Dylan Flenoy, 64 out of Brenham, assaulted another family member. Flenoy was placed in custody and transported to the Washington County Jail where he was booked in for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member.
ONE PERSON ARRESTED AFTER ACCIDENT
One person was arrested Tuesday after an accident. Brenham Police report that Tuesday night at 8:45, Officers responded to the 200 block of South Blue Bell Road in reference to a Crash. Investigation revealed that Earl Daniels, 41 of Brenham, failed to comply with duties upon striking a fixed object and had an active warrant. Daniels was taken into custody for failure to comply with duties upon striking a fixed object and his active warrant and transported to the Washington County Jail where he was booked in.
BRENHAM ISD NAMES JUNGERS NEW HEAD GIRLS SOCCER COACH
Brenham ISD has filled another coaching vacancy at Brenham High School with the hiring of Kristin Jungers to be the new Cubette Soccer Head Coach. Coach Jungers takes over the position formally held by Floyd Tuttle, who has moved to Florida. In accepting the position, Jungers stated that she is very excited to be a part of BHS and the Cubette Soccer Program.
