Leesburg Police Department is asking for the assistance of anyone who may have information about an August 2 crash that claimed the life of a teen and sent six others to the hospital.

The crash occurred around 9 p.m. at the intersection of E. Market Street at the Leesburg Bypass. LPD said the vehicles involved were a 2017 Honda Accord and an ambulance for a private company.

LPD said the Honda was driven by a juvenile and had two passengers who were also minors along with one who was an adult. All four individuals were transported to the hospital.

One of the juveniles, a teenager, was pronounced dead and the three survivors remained hospitalized with LPD describing their condition as “stable.”

The ambulance was carrying two employees and a patient.

LPD chief Thea Pirnat told ABC News 7 the ambulance was upside down and officers had to assist the fire department to extricate the patient who was being transported.

All three adults in the ambulance were transported to the hospital, and two were kept, with LPD also describing their condition as stable.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant M. Hackney at 703-771-4500 or mhackney@leesburgva.gov.
