Anthony Wayne High School to be exclusive polling location for Whitehouse voters
The Lucas County Board of Elections decided at its monthly meeting Tuesday that Anthony Wayne High School will be the exclusive polling location for voters in Whitehouse. Population growth and high voter turnout prompted the change, said Tim Monaco, deputy director of the Board of Elections. Residents who had used Community of Christ Lutheran Church will be notified of the change, Mr. Monaco said. The change was inevitable because the board was “going to have to make it [the change] in two years for population growth, anyway.”
High school students present research findings from BGSU science program
BOWLING GREEN — After six weeks of conducting scientific research at Bowling Green State University, high school students in blazers and dresses stood proudly in front of poster boards to present their results at the college. Students from Perrysburg, Ottawa Hills, Eastwood, Sylvania Southview, Fremont Ross, and Bowling Green high schools stood side by side this week as visitors walked from student to student, explaining to them the topic of their research, how they conducted their research, the results they found, and what they learned. Urvi Viamajala, 16, a rising junior at Southview, explained to passersby the process of creating hexagonal benzene, which creates graphene nanoribbons that are used in creating electronics.

Rico has left a lasting legacy through his work in education, journalism, and cultural preservation. Richard taught at Toledo Public Schools while attending Law School at the University of Toledo, and went on to become a well-respected defense attorney.
