Man arrested after decomposing body found in Baton Rouge apartment
BATON ROUGE – Alan Coons has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 66-year-old man on July 24, 2024. Baton Rouge Police say officers responded to an apartment complex at 675 Wooddale Boulevard in Baton Rouge for a call for an ‘unresponsive male.’ Upon arrival, officers found Kimbrel’s body on the floor of a bedroom. According to Coons’ arresting documents, Kimbrel’s body was in ‘advanced stages of decomposition.’
Infant dead after being 'forgotten' in car
BATON ROUGE - Deputies are investigating after an infant was forgotten in the backseat of a car and died Tuesday afternoon. The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said the parent left their home Tuesday morning to bring the 6-month-old child to daycare before work. Deputies said the parent continued on to work and didn't realize until going to the pick the baby up from daycare in the evening that the child had been in the car all day.
