    JUNE 14-15: ST. JOHN’S FEST

    Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church will host the annual festival June 14-15, with music by the Tim Daniels Band on Friday and Madison County on Saturday. Food tent opens at 4 p.m. and a chicken dinner will be served Saturday. For a full schedule, visit https://www.stjbfest.com/

    JUNE 15: CAKES FOR DADSThe Waunakee Optimist Club will host a Cakes for Dads event at Piggly Wiggly June 15 between 10 a.m. and noon. Children and their families can buy and decorate a cake for Father’s Day.

    JUNE 18: LIVE FROM THE PARKThe Live From the Park concert series begins June 18 when the Old Oaks play folk funk at the Waunakee Village Park gazebo. Food carts will be begin serving at 5:30 p.m. and the concerts run from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evenings through July 30. There will be no concert on July 2.

    JUNE 19: AUTHOR VISIT

    B.J. Hollars, the author of “Wisconsin for Kennedy: The Primary that Launched a President and Changed the Course of History,” will visit the Waunakee Public Library at 6:30 p.m. June 19. Hollars is the recipient of many awards.

    JUNE 19: FARMERS MARKETThe Waunakee Farmers and Makers Market will be June 19 at Reeve Park behind the Waunakee Depot. The Waunakee Farmers Markets run Wednesdays from 3-6 p.m. through mid October.

    JUNE 20: AUTHOR VISIT — ZOOM“Unpacking a History of Systemic Racism in the American Education System”: No. 1 New York Times bestselling author Tiffany Jewell highlights the inequities Black and Brown students face from preschool through college as she presents lessons and knowledge from her new book “Everything I Learned About Racism I Learned in School.” The program is hosted by the Waunakee Public Library Thursday, June 20, 1 p.m. on ZOOM

    JUNE 21: LIBRARY CARD CONTEST DEADLINE

    To celebrate Waunakee Public Library’s 5th anniversary of our new building, the staff is looking to community members to design a special edition library card. All ages are invited to submit an original design showing how you “Explore at the Library!” Submissions are due by 6 p.m. on Friday, June 21.

    JUNE 27: PATRIOTIC CONCERTThe Waunakee Community Band will perform its Patriotic Concert at 7 p.m. June 16 at the Village Park gazebo. The Lions Club will serve a meal starting at 5 p.m.
