    Wausau West volleyball finishes 1-3 at Big Rivers/WVC Invitational

    WESTON – The Wausau West girls volleyball team went 1-3 at the Big Rivers/Wisconsin Valley Invitational on Tuesday to open its 2024 season.

    West defeated Superior, and suffered losses to Hudson, Eau Claire North and Chippewa Falls.

    Addy Vaughn had 34 digs to lead the West defense. Senior Grace Huggenvik had 18 kills and five blocks, fellow senior Claire Calmes had 14 kills and 21 digs, and freshman Ava Ngo led the Warriors with 33 assists.

    D.C. Everest results were not reported.

    West will play at the Friendship Tournament on Saturday at JustAGame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells, which is hosted by Lake Mills.

    D.C. Everest will play at the Battle of the Valley Tournament at the Champions Center in Appleton on Friday and Saturday.
