Streak of storm chances start today
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Hopefully everyone enjoyed the ample sunshine across the Mid-Ohio Valley this weekend. Despite dealing the low 90s for both days, at least it was not humid. Now, as we start a new week, we will say goodbye to the sunshine and must bring back the muggy air. It is going to feel like a bit of a long week as we will be looking at the chance of showers and storms throughout the week. However, we do need more rain here in the Mid-Ohio Valley and throughout West Virginia as drought conditions persist.
Critical Injuries in Newport Township Crash as Lake County Sheriff Investigates U-Turn Collision
Newport Township, IL (WLIP)—Lake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a serious crash in Newport Township involving a sedan and an SUV. The crash occurred on Saturday around 10:15 a.m.near Russell and Frontage Roads when the SUV, driven by a 27-year-old man from Schaumburg, attempted a U-turn and was struck by the sedan, driven by a 21-year-old man from Zion.

Parkersburg Police pull man from Ohio River
PARKERSBURG — Parkersburg Police pulled a man in distress from the Ohio River early Sunday morning. Officers received a report of someone struggling in the river around 1 a.m. Sunday, Parkersburg Police Capt. R.L. Koher said. The man was in a kayak on the Belpre side of the river, so officers crossed the bridge and parked at Rite Aid, where they could hear him yelling for help.
